Ocimum basilicum

Plant of ancient Asian origins, belonging to the Lamiaceae family. The name derives from the Greek term, basileus, or king, from which basil, regal. The plant is easy to grow and can grow up to a maximum of 50/60 cm. It has a central stem from which the leaves develop, of a rounded shape, source of the well-known essential oils. The white or pink flowers are small, gathered in spikes and contain the seeds.
