Laurus nobilis

Plant that grows spontaneously on the coastal stretches of the Mediterranean, ideal for creating well-trimmed hedges but also as a simple ornamental or aromatic. It has many branches, with dark bark and dark leathery foliage, the source of the unmistakable aroma. It is a dioecious plant, with varieties with female flowers and varieties with male flowers. The first ones are followed by the production of dark berries. It should be exposed to direct sun for at least a few hours a day, but it also tolerates the cold. It does not require too abundant irrigation and stagnation should be avoided. It should be fertilized only when it is planted with an organic product. The ideal soil should be well drained.
